Born in the U.S.A. Raised in New Guinea
Follow Mr. Kelley's induction into the army in 1941 to his discharge in 1945. He fought for
2 years and 8 months in New Guinea with the Hdq. Co., 3rd Bat., 127 Inf., 32nd Division. This
famous Red Arrow Division saw a lot of action in New Guinea, and he is one of the few who lived
to tell about it. He tells about sleeping in fox holes and the Battle of Buna and other major
battles. Photographs accompany the story. He has received so many letters from people who read
his book. A few fought there too, and some were from children or grandchildren of men who fought
there. They were so glad to learn more about what happened there. We have learned that many people
today do not even know we fought in New Guinea.
